Frequently Asked Questions

Our Free Models

Our assets are packed into ZIP files containing 3D files in OBJ and FBX format and PNG pictures for texture files. Included are also files for Cinema4D (.C4D for Redshift Renderer) and Blender (.BLEND for native Renderer).

Yes, you can! Please note that our EULA also takes effect for any free products we offer.

For more information, please refer to our End-User-License-Agreement

We provide the universal file formats FBX and OBJ, which can both be used in most 3D softwares. You will only have to set and connect the PBR textures into a material inside your software.

Our Blender and Cinema4D files can be opened render-ready!

We sell our assets with a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revokable license to use for any personal or commercial purposes for an indefinite period of time. As long as your designs don’t encourage racial, religious or ethical hatred, nor propagate violence, any totalitarian political system or any illegal activity or purpose nor violate the rights of a third party, you are free to use Item3D assets as you please!

Please be aware though that you may not resell, share, distribute, sublicense or multiply the original, as well as a modified 3D or texture file.

For more information, please refer to our End-User-License-Agreement

Yes, you may edit the product for your own projects, but the modified object still remains intellectual property of Item3D. You may not resell, share, distribute, sublicense or multiply the original, as well as the edited product.

To make editing the colour of the assets easier for you, we provide some assets with a changeable ID colour map.

For more information, please refer to our End-User-License-Agreement

Most our assets are modeled for Subdivision Modeling and are therefore in a relatively low to mid subdivision range. Depending on the game engines and applications, as well as end-user devices, some models can be used in real-time. We list the polycount in every Item3D asset description, so please use at your own discretion.

For more information, please refer to the Warranty Disclaimer (5.) in our End-User-License-Agreement

Physically Based Rendering (PBR) is a method of shading and rendering that provides a more accurate representation of how light interacts with surfaces. Instead of using specific, programm-bound shaders, the PBR texture provides all the information in fixed values to simulate real life materials. Therefore, assets will look accurate in all lighting conditions across different softwares.

Our textures come as 4K textures with unwrapped UVs as an 8 bit-PNG. Always included are a Base Colour Map, a Metallic Map, an OpenGL Normal Map as well as a Roughness Map. Depending on the asset, we might additionally include an ID-Map (for recolouring the model or parts of the model), an Emissive Map (for glowing surfaces) and a Transmissive Map (for transparency).

Our Blender files come with their native shaders; the Cinema4D files include Redshift shaders.

OBJ and FBX files will require you to connect the PBR textures into a shader of your own.

While we appreciate the interest, we’re afraid you can’t. We don’t plan on making Item3D a market place, but rather an in-house 3D asset provider, where you can be sure that all models went through the same development process and therefore offer a consistent quality, made from the same hands as previous assets.
